Southwest Airlines Military Discount
Southwest Airlines offers special military fares to eligible active-duty U.S. military personnel and their authorized dependents.
Military fares are not available for booking on Southwest.com.
How to Book a Military Fare
To check availability and book a Southwest military fare, call Southwest Airlines at 1-800-I-FLY-SWA (1-800-435-9792) or visit a Southwest ticket counter.
Eligible passengers must present a valid United States Uniformed Services ID when required.
Active-duty military eligibility includes reservists, National Guard members and Coast Guard members with active orders, as well as qualifying cadets and midshipmen attending U.S. service academies. Authorized military dependents may also qualify.
Additional Military Benefits
Southwest provides active-duty U.S. military members with Priority Boarding before Group 1 when they present valid military identification.
Active-duty military customers are also exempt from checked baggage fees, including excess, oversized and overweight baggage charges, provided individual bags do not exceed 100 pounds or 80 linear inches. Southwest limits each ticketed customer to a maximum of 20 checked bags per flight.
Dependents traveling without the active-duty military member are subject to Southwest’s normal excess, oversized and overweight baggage charges.
